These days have come with many challenges. It’s hard to keep our spirits up. Our emotions are up and down. For many of us it has been difficult to keep moving forward when so many things seem hopeless. Motivating ourselves can feel like walking through molasses or like we are carrying a heavy burden uphill. There is great news for you even during times of distress or or just feeling generally down and unmotivated. Let’s talk about 26 ways to celebrate your success to keep motivation strong.

  1. Accept the change

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

Lord, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations. Psalms 119:108 NLT

Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked? Ecclesiastes 7:13 NLT

  1. Believe

I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours. Mark 11:24 NLT

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 NLT

Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Isaiah 43:10 KJVAE

  1. Lay your concerns down to God

I want you to be free from the concerns of this life. An unmarried man can spend his time doing the Lord’s work and thinking how to please him. 1 Corinthians 7:32 NLT

Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.  Psalms 55:22 NLT

Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life. Philippians 4:6-7 MSG

Leave all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.1 Peter 5:7 NLT

  1. Discover what God has for you

I realized that no one can discover everything God is doing under the sun. Not even the wisest people discover everything, no matter what they claim.  Ecclesiastes 8:17 NLT

Can you solve the mysteries of God? Can you discover everything about the Almighty? Job 11:7 NLT

You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family. Matthew 5:9 MSG

  1. Realize God is your Everything

Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. Psalms 37:5 NLT

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Matthew 6:33 NLT

And do everything with love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 NLT

Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; Cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I’m about; See for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong— then guide me on the road to eternal life. Psalm 139:23-24 MSG

The heavens announce that he’ll set everything right, And everyone will see it happen—glorious!

Psalm 97:6 MSG

  1. Ask and Seek Forgiveness

Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32 MSG

“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:13 NLT

If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. Matthew 6:14 NLT

  1. Have Gratitude

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Matthew 6:21 NLT

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT

What a beautiful thing, GOD, to give thanks, to sing an anthem to you, the High God! To announce your love each daybreak, sing your faithful presence all through the night, Accompanied by dulcimer and harp, the full-bodied music of strings. Psalm 92:1-3 MSG

  1. Seek Help when you need it

Help, GOD —the bottom has fallen out of my life! Master, hear my cry for help! Listen hard! Open your ears! Listen to my cries for mercy. Psalm 130:1-2 MSG

Kind words heal and help; cutting words wound and maim. Proverbs 15:4 MSG

Come quickly to help me, O Lord my savior. Psalms 38:22 NLT

So, let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.  Hebrews 4:16 NLT

  1. Realize You are Important to God

A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:39 NLT

And I know it is important to love him with all my heart and all my understanding and all my strength, and to love my neighbor as myself. This is more important than to offer all of the burnt offerings and sacrifices required in the law. Mark 12:33 NLT

Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.

Matthew 22:37-40 MSG

If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Matthew 6:30-33 MSG

  1. Be Joyful

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work, so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. James 1:2-4 MSG

But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified. Galatians 5:22-23 MSG

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Galatians 5:22 NLT

I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!

John 15:11 NLT

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. Psalms 16:11 NLT

  1. Be Kind

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 1 Corinthians 13:4 NLT

Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 NLT

How kind the Lord is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours! Psalms 116:5 NLT

Kind words heal and help; cutting words wound and maim. Proverbs 15:4 MSG

  1. Love one another

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 1 Corinthians 13:4 NLT

But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 1 John 4:8 NLT

He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. Psalms 33:5 NLT

See how I love your commandments, Lord. Give back my life because of your unfailing love.

Psalms 119:159 NLT

  1. Maintain yourself

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

Proverbs 3:7 NLT

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.

Philippians 2:3 NLT

Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself.’ These two commands are pegs; everything in God’s Law and the Prophets hangs from them.

Matthew 22:37-40 MSG

Hatred starts fights, but love pulls a quilt over the bickering. Proverbs 10:12 MSG

  1. Remember God is Near

But you are near, O Lord, and all your commands are true. Psalms 119:151 NLT

Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people; come near and rescue me. Psalms 106:4 NLT

Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Matthew 3:2 NLT

But you are near, O Lord, and all your commands are true. Psalms 119:151 NLT

  1. Be Obedient

I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word. Psalms 119:101 NLT

So, you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 1 Peter 1:14 NLT

An undisciplined, self-willed life is puny; an obedient, God-willed life is spacious.

Proverbs 15:32 MSG

So, he went back to Nazareth with them, and lived obediently with them. His mother held these things dearly, deep within herself. And Jesus matured, growing up in both body and spirit, blessed by both God and people. Luke 2:51-52 MSG

  1. Peace

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”  Isaiah 26:3 NLT

To be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 MSG

Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.

Colossians 3:15-17 MSG

Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7 NLT

  1. Be Quiet

Teach me, and I will keep quiet. Show me what I have done wrong. Job 6:24 NLT

It is foolish to belittle one’s neighbor; a sensible person keeps quiet. Proverbs 11:12 NLT

So, they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone.  Mark 6:32 NLT

So, let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet. James 4:7-10 MSG

  1. Rejoice in the Lord

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble and keep on praying. Romans 12:12 NLT

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Philippians 4:4 NLT

Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 MSG

So, God’s people, shout praise to GOD, Give thanks to our Holy God! Psalm 97:12 MSG

  1. Depend on Gods Strength

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 NLT

I love you, GOD — you make me strong. GOD is bedrock under my feet, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight. My God—the high crag where I run for dear life, hiding behind the boulders, safe in the granite hideout.” Psalm 18:1-2 MSG

Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because GOD, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.

Deuteronomy 31:6 MSG

But me—I’m filled with GOD ’s power, filled with GOD ’s Spirit of justice and strength, Ready to confront Jacob’s crime and Israel’s sin. Micah 3:8 MSG

  1. Be Thankful in all things

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT

Enter with the password: “Thank you!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him. Worship him. Psalm 100:4 MSG

Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live. Thessalonians 5:16-18 MSG

  1. Unite with God and other believers

Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for GOD ’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to GOD! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor GOD with everything you own; give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don’t, dear friend, resent GOD ’s discipline; don’t sulk under his loving correction. It’s the child he loves that GOD corrects; a father’s delight is behind all this.

Proverbs 3:5-12 MSG

And not only for that nation, but to bring together and unite all the children of God scattered around the world. John 11:52 NLT

  1. Victory is yours

Do your best, prepare for the worst— then trust GOD to bring victory. Proverbs 21:31 MSG

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2 MSG

But he himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way. He will be victorious. Psalms 110:7 NLT

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 NLT

Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalms 27:14 NLT

Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.

So, my dear brothers and sisters, when you gather for the Lord’s Supper, wait for each other.

1 Corinthians 11:33 NLT

  1. Be Xany for God about what he has done for you

You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done.

Psalms 92:4

That’s why I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times. The created world itself can hardly wait for what’s coming next. Everything in creation is being more or less held back. God reins it in until both creation and all the creatures are ready and can be released at the same moment into the glorious times ahead. Meanwhile, the joyful anticipation deepens. Romans 8:18-21 MSG

Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Psalms 100:1 NLT

The Prayer of Salvation

Jesus, I don't know You, and I don't know what Your plan is for me. But thank you for coming to die in my place. I'm sorry for anything I've ever done wrong in my life. I don't understand how You could ever forgive me, but if You really would, I would like to accept your free gift of grace and complete forgiveness. Please come into my life and take control, and help me trust You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
