We are navigating through a season where we are going to be around a lot of people. Right now we are full blown into the Christmas season, which means we will have Thanksgiving and Christmas to practice how we can engage in relationships without allowing ourselves to go into division. more easily said than done because every human, especially since 2020, now has strongly held beliefs. The protector part of us steps in to make sure that our belief is not squashed. That we are not taken for granted and what we believe is held as important to the other person. So how can we avoid conflict at Christmas? How do we show love? How do we choose to communicate in a loving way? How Do You Keep Peace During the Christmas Holidays?
So how can we avoid conflict at Christmas? On our own strength it might be difficult. No matter how hard we try to be good people and treat others the way we want to be treated, we often fail. There is hope for all of us. We can become all we are created to be and can experience and then offer true love and peace to others. It does not come from our humanity. It comes from a wellspring of life that bubbles forth from within our yielded hearts.
When we invite Jesus into our lives, we become filled the Holy Spirit. We overflow with the joy of the Lord. When we pray and ask Jesus to come into our hearts, forgive us and make us new, our lives are changed forever. If we will be silent and listen for the still small voice that is God’s Spirit speaking to our hearts, we will be able to hold our tongues and respond with love. We will be able to offer the grace that everyone longs for. We can quiet the conflict that is threatening to destroy our relationships.
