I Want to Ask Jesus Into My Heart But I Am Ashamed and Undeserving of Forgiveness

When we think about salvation, we often think about being forgiven for our sins and being welcomed into heaven. However, sometimes we may feel like we are not worthy of forgiveness or salvation. Perhaps we feel like we have done too much wrong or that we are not good enough. These feelings can prevent us from wanting to be saved or from asking for forgiveness.

If you find yourself in this situation, it is important to remember that everyone makes mistakes and that we are all undeserving of forgiveness. But we have great news! Jesus paid for our sins! He offers to us the FREE GIFT OF SALVATION. We cannot earn it. God has extended His great mercy and grace to us. When we receive him into our lives, God sees our sin no more. The blood of Jesus covers all them all. We are washed as white as snow. When we believe that Jesus is God’s Son who came to show us how to live, died a terrible death in our place, and rose again from the grave, we can be saved from a life of separation from the true joy that Jesus offers.

Bible Verses about Salvation

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

It is never too late to ask for forgiveness and to start living a life that is pleasing to God. You will be made brand new. Here is what the Bible says about becoming a new creation when you receive Jesus as your savior:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17

Isn’t that great news! The old is in the past and you are made new. God does not hold our past against us when we ask Jesus into our heart. And now we go forward empowered by the Holy Spirit who will teach us about Jesus and help us live a life filled with purpose and meaning.

If you want to be saved but you are ashamed or feel undeserving of forgiveness, know that you are not alone.

Many people feel this way, but it is important to take the first step and to ask for forgiveness. God is waiting with open arms and He is ready to forgive you and to welcome you into His kingdom.

The Prayer of Salvation

Jesus, I don't know You, and I don't know what Your plan is for me. But thank you for coming to die in my place. I'm sorry for anything I've ever done wrong in my life. I don't understand how You could ever forgive me, but if You really would, I would like to accept your free gift of grace and complete forgiveness. Please come into my life and take control, and help me trust You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
