How do you know if you are saved and going to heaven? We are so happy you are asking this question! Many people believe you can lose your salvation because of sin and imperfection. Happily, once you have accepted the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, you are sealed forever. Let’s dive into these 5 ways to know for sure that you will spend eternity in heaven.

11 But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that are now already here, he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made with human hands, that is to say, is not a part of this creation. 12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for allby his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.

Hebrews 9:11-12

How Do You Know You’re Going to Heaven? Five Ways to Know for Sure:

1. Focus on the Savior, not yourself.

Since Jesus has obtained eternal redemption, you don’t add anything to His work. You rest in Him.

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,

Hebrews 10:11-12

2. Focus on the unbreakable promise of God to those who receive Jesus.

The verse tells us to believe in His Name. The promise is we have, present tense, eternal life–have it now! Words are meaningless if eternal doesn’t mean forever.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life”.

John 3:16

3. Focus on your responsibility: Believing.

You make no contribution to your salvation. Instead, you believe in the salvation that Jesus has accomplished. Faith is His Name is the way you receive Jesus’ salvation. Each person is responsible before God to receive for themselves what Jesus has done to accomplish their salvation. To do that you must believe the content of the gospel: that Jesus has completed your salvation by dying on the cross for your sins and resurrecting to life (1 Corinthians 15:1-8).

“But as many as received Him (Jesus), to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe “ His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God .”

John 1:12

4. Don’t focus on yourself.

While you live on this earth you will still commit sins. If you look at what you do you will think you aren’t good enough for heaven. And you’d be right, except you have believed in Jesus’ Name, so you can rest in Him. It’s not whether you’re good enough, it’s whether He’s good enough. He is your Savior, not you.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”

1 John 1:10

5. Don’t contribute any works.

“Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?”  Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.”

John 6:29

Have you believed in Jesus’ Name? If so, you can rely on God’s promise that you will join him in heaven.

He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.

Hebrews 9:12

The Prayer of Salvation

Jesus, I don't know You, and I don't know what Your plan is for me. But thank you for coming to die in my place. I'm sorry for anything I've ever done wrong in my life. I don't understand how You could ever forgive me, but if You really would, I would like to accept your free gift of grace and complete forgiveness. Please come into my life and take control, and help me trust You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
