What Do You Do When Your Christian Husband Doubts His Faith?

We all have questions! You have asked a great one. We are so sorry for the struggle you are having, but all of our pastors would offer you much hope. It is not unusual for a Christian to go through periods of doubt. What do you do when your Christian husband doubts his faith? Let’s dive in and find the best answer according to God’s word.

Wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word …as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but…the hidden person of the heart, with…a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves…

1 Peter 3:1-5)

In other words, be Christ-like.

What to do When Your Husband Walks Away From God

This is a tough one, so hang in there. These are all Biblical instructions and not all will accept them. This is for those women–holy women who hope in God–who have committed themselves to following the Lord. And the Bible’s instruction goes against the direction our society, under the god of this world, is pushing us toward. These Bible instructions are for women to be, and who are, self-sacrificing. For women who care about having a godly household obedient to God’s word. So what do you do when your Christian husband doubts his faith?

Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored .

Titus 2:3-5

Set an Example for Your Husband by being a Godly Woman

God’s honor is at stake! You will be setting an example for your husband by being a godly woman. This takes the type of self-sacrifice Jesus practiced by leaving His heavenly estate to die for our sins on the cross: If you would like to know why Jesus died for us, find out more by clicking here.

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him.

Philippians 2:3-9

Serving is not lowering oneself–unless you think Jesus lowered Himself by dying in our place.

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” …Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:1,4

Remember, these are the Bible’s instructions for a godly woman who is sold out to the Lord; one who has asked what to do when her husband doubts his faith.
