What is Halloween To You?

What is Halloween to a Christian? What is Halloween to you? These are great questions. Let’s talk about it.

What is Halloween to you?

1 Timothy 4:1 ESV  Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons

What you think about Halloween is a personal thing. It depends on how much of it you participate in and on your past relationship with Satan and demons. All Christians have a life before Jesus when we were serving Satan and communing with his demons. Halloween was fun back then. If a Christian came to Christ later in life, they spent a lot of time with Satan. Most Christians likely have a negative view toward Halloween. A worldly Christian with 1 foot in the world may think Halloween is harmless. For many young people now Halloween is their biggest holiday of the year and is expanded to last multiple weeks or all of October. The impact of Halloween on our world is slowing growing.

What is Halloween to Satan and demons?

It is the 1 time a year were the boundary between the demonic and our world is the thinnest. It is a mass assembly of Satan worshippers. Evil and demonic activity is at it’s highest effectiveness. Death is celebrated, violence is made fun, spells and witches are cool, and there are no limits on how demonic costumes or decorations can be. All that God hates is glorified that night.

A former warlock (male witch) says that Satanists pray over candy and curse it before handing it to children. The former warlock also said that Satanists can curse a town, a neighborhood, a home and a church, so that people are spiritually blinded and the calling by the Holy Spirit is not clearly heard.  Satan often seeks to divide churches and families. All this activity increases on Halloween.

A message to Christians about Halloween

1 Corinthians 10:21 ESV  You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

Ephesians 5:11 ESV  Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

3 John 1:11 ESV  Beloved, do not imitate evil but imitate good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not seen God.

Two types of people take Halloween seriously: Satanists and strong Christians.

Don’t be heavily involved in Halloween, else Satan is controlling you and your family.  A Christian with the Holy Spirit dwelling in them, who knows the realities of Heaven and Hell, will cringe and be uncomfortable with Halloween. It is tough for us to be set apart from the world and be criticized. But Halloween and the world will get increasingly evil so Christians must recognize that at some point. What if Halloween is celebrated all year? Halloween is not innocent fun. Halloween is nothing but glorifying the demonic realm and it is deadly serious. Halloween increases Satan’s grip and influence on this world.

Halloween is likely a time for Christians to lay low and pray. We can’t compete with nor overcome the evil on Halloween. Some Christians will only trick or treat, or do alternate activities at churches such as Trunk or Treat or Fall Festival. But when the public is invited wearing their costumes it still looks like Halloween-lite.

Satan is successful if he lures some Christians with Halloween, because that causes disunity in families and churches. It is important to teach Christians about the realities of Halloween so we stay united. It is important for you, my spiritual brother or sister, not to be deceived and glorify and worship Satan. You cannot put 1 foot in the world and open a door to Satan, you must be set apart and glorify God. When you feel spiritually attacked, pray in the name of Jesus and evil will flee.
