good news of jesus

There are days when the pain just sits heavy on your chest. Maybe you can’t explain why, or maybe you know exactly what’s weighing you down—but either way, it hurts. And when you’re in that space, the idea of “feeling better” can feel miles away. Here are 15 ways to move past the pain and sadness.

Jesus Can Heal Your Pain

This isn’t a list of things to fix you. You’re not broken. These are gentle ways to help move the pain—not to ignore it, not to shove it down—but to breathe through it, one tiny moment at a time. And through it all, there’s One who stays beside you. Jesus doesn’t wait for you to clean yourself up or smile through the ache. He simply says, “Come to Me.” And He means it.

15 Ways to Move the Pain (With Jesus Beside You)

1. Let the tears come.
Crying isn’t weakness—it’s release. Jesus wept too (John 11:35). He never tells you to hold it all together. He sits with you in the sorrow, never rushing you through it.

2. Breathe slowly and deeply.
Place a hand on your chest. Inhale grace. Exhale pressure. Let Jesus meet you in the stillness—no words needed.

3. Say what hurts, out loud.
Name it. “This loss. This disappointment. This fear.” Jesus wants honesty, not perfection. He already knows, and He wants to carry it with you.

4. Go outside, even for five minutes.
Fresh air doesn’t fix everything, but it can be holy ground. Creation quietly reminds us of a Creator who never forgets us.

5. Write it all down.
Journal like no one’s reading. Dump it on the page. The mess, the confusion, the ache. God can handle your rawest words.

6. Listen to music that understands.
Find songs that speak the language of your soul. Sad songs, hopeful songs, worship songs. Let someone else’s voice help carry the weight for a whi

7. Speak Jesus’ name out loud.
Even just one word: Jesus. There is power and peace in His name. You don’t have to know what to pray—He already hears your heart.

8. Do one simple thing with your hands.
Fold laundry, chop vegetables, make tea. Little tasks can steady you when your heart feels like it’s floating away. Jesus is in the ordinary moments too.

9. Reach out to someone safe.
Text a friend, send a voice note, ask for prayer. You don’t have to carry this alone. Jesus often comforts us through each other.

10. Move your body, just a little.
Stretch, walk, sway, dance in the kitchen if you feel up to it. You were not made to be frozen in pain. Movement can be medicine.

11. Rest—without guilt.
Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is take a nap, shut your laptop, or cancel the plan. Jesus isn’t measuring your productivity. He invites you to come and rest (Matthew 11:28).

12. Hold something warm.
A mug of tea. A heating pad. A soft blanket. Physical warmth can help settle emotional waves. Jesus offers soul-deep comfort.

13. Say, “This hurts, but I am not alone.”
Say it again if you need to. This doesn’t mean you have to feel better right away—but it plants truth where pain has tried to take over.

14. Picture Jesus beside you.
Not far off, not disappointed—right there. Kneeling beside you, holding your hand, looking at you with eyes full of compassion. Because that’s exactly where He is.

15. Whisper this truth: I am loved, even here.
You don’t have to feel worthy. You are worthy. Jesus’ love isn’t earned by your strength or lost in your sadness. It’s steady. It’s gentle. And it’s yours if you will believe in his name.

There’s no right pace for healing. Some days you’ll feel stronger, and some days you’ll just feel tired—and that’s okay. Jesus isn’t tracking your progress on a chart. He’s walking with you, carrying the pieces you don’t know how to hold, and whispering over you, “I’m not going anywhere.”

So breathe. Cry if you need to. Rest if you can. You are not alone in this.

And you are deeply, unshakably, forever loved by God.

The Prayer of Salvation

Jesus, I don't know You, and I don't know what Your plan is for me. But thank you for coming to die in my place. I'm sorry for anything I've ever done wrong in my life. I don't understand how You could ever forgive me, but if You really would, I would like to accept your free gift of grace and complete forgiveness. Please come into my life and take control, and help me trust You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
