Scripture for Today:
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
Reflection
Some mornings we wake up ready to take on the world, but other days it feels like just getting out of bed is a victory. Life has a way of pulling on our energy and weighing down our spirits. When discouragement sneaks in, it can make the whole day feel gray and heavy. But God’s Word promises that our strength doesn’t come from what we can muster up—it comes from Him.
Encouraging Good News of Salvation
The truest encouragement begins with the great news of salvation through Jesus Christ. He came to rescue us from sin and restore our relationship with God. Romans 10:9 reminds us, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” This isn’t just about eternity; it’s about today. Knowing you are fully loved and fully forgiven means you don’t have to face the day alone. You walk with the One who promises to give you peace that passes understanding.
Encouragement also grows when we take small, steady steps. Start with gratitude—thank God for something simple, like the sunshine, a warm drink, or the people you love. Gratitude shifts your perspective and keeps you from getting swallowed by negativity.
Encourage Others
Lean into community as well. God designed us to encourage one another, to lift each other up, and to remind each other of His promises when we forget. A kind word from a friend or a prayer spoken over you can be the fuel that keeps you moving forward.
And don’t forget to slow down and pray. Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” When you bring your heart to Him, you’re not just venting—you’re releasing your burdens into the hands of the One who is strong enough to carry them.
Today, let yourself be reminded that encouragement isn’t far away. It’s already here, because God is with you.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for being my source of encouragement and strength. Thank You for saving me and giving me new life through the cross. When discouragement tries to weigh me down, help me to remember Your promises and lean on Your strength, not my own. Fill my heart with peace today, and remind me that I am never alone. In Your name I pray, Amen.
