Life is a series of decisions. What do I eat, wear, do, think? How do I want to be perceived?  How can I be strong in my commitments when I am wishy-washy?  We are bombarded with information on everything from how best to clean the toilet to how to excel in running a corporation.  Oh, and add on the side how to be a perfectly groomed, intuitive, loving parent and a dynamo helpmate to my spouse as part of the total package.  Finding clarity when you are feeling confused is a very common struggle for most all of us.Let go of Languishing and move forward by trying some of the following. There is hope for you! Try these 7 ways to find clarity when you are feeling confused.

Decisive, well-spoken words or actions, obviously made from a clear mind that has considered all of the involved implications, are admirable.  These make one believable, formulate plans for future growth, and mark the person as a leader. But how do we get there?

Without doubt, it takes practice and planning to project a persona of a clear headed, decisive, and assured individual.

There has been planning and forethought. And, as with all leadership qualities, there has been practice and scrutiny.  A well thought out decision, covered with prayer, and perhaps shared with an advisor, is likely to portray depth and be seen as beneficial to any cause.

7 Ways to Find Clarity When You are Feeling Confused

Therefore, what are some of the decision considerations that I should identify, investigate, and promulgate?

1. Based upon my values and vision, how does this opportunity, problem, or thought pattern line up with my core values?  Is it fair and beneficial to all?  Am I tempted to cover-up anything questionable? Will I want my name as a consenter for all to see?  Can I sleep well with this outcome? Is it in line with the lifestyle and moral platform to which I have committed?  Is it who I am, or am I being hoodwinked or gaslighted?

2. Every action and every written or spoken word spewed from me paints the picture of who I am. Making the comparison lists of positives to negatives, I must make the decision that I can defend based upon my moral code, my ethics, and my commitment.  This decision builds the reputation of who I am becoming, as well as strengthens or weakens the character unfolding.  It takes time to build great character; and only minutes for that to be destroyed.

3. What is your gut feeling? Intuitiveness is a characteristic that is acquired throughout a lifetime. Listen to that small voice as you make decisions.  That gut feeling has been forged from years of experiences, learned lessons, and countless blessings.

4. Make two lists side by side.  Pros and cons. Be honest.  Explore each item.  Determine if they are actually pros or cons in a realistic manner.  You may benefit by putting the alternate decisions in writing. Formulate with clarity what is bouncing around wildly in your head. Concentrate on facts.  Search for more truths if still a problem.

5. Lay the matter out with truths from each side. Then commit it to the Lord God, requesting the gift of wisdom be yours as you seek clarity. Wisdom is the ability to make good use of knowledge – the ability to recognize right from wrong – having good judgment. “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1: 5 If not clear, sleep on it. Awake to a fresh word from the Lord the next morning.

6. Make the decision, commit, and move forward with great planning and thorough preparedness. Be positive, joyful, energetic.  Reach out and help someone else along the way. At the first bobble, do not think you chose wrong. Nothing is without effort.  Very few things are perfect.

 7. Keep your goals and standards high.  Share the praise.  Give God the glory.

I am convinced it we give every decision this strategic an approach, we would have a smoother lifestyle.  Once we learn the how to of making clear decisions, we will find the art learned is quickly put to task on the more minor choices as well.

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.”  Amelia Earhart

Teach your children how to make decisions

Much time and effort are misspent in the inability to decide.  Keep the standard high and visible.  Learn to make small adjustments as you go.

Once you commit, go forward with enthusiasm, joy, and concern for all involved. It’s your life.  Jesus said, “I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.”  John 10:10

Let joy reign. Be kind. Help others succeed with you along the path. Lift up the poor and the fallen.

The Prayer of Salvation

Jesus, I don't know You, and I don't know what Your plan is for me. But thank you for coming to die in my place. I'm sorry for anything I've ever done wrong in my life. I don't understand how You could ever forgive me, but if You really would, I would like to accept your free gift of grace and complete forgiveness. Please come into my life and take control, and help me trust You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
